I've tried several things, among others with camera strap, straps or the Capture Clip from Peak Design. The latter is 80 EUR is not only expensive but also has the disadvantage that the camera when it is attached to the backpack, there depends only on one side. A heavy DSLR (1.5 kg and more) then pulls the backpack straps, the clip itself presses on the chest. In addition, the weight is only on one shoulder, which leads overall to be no nehmenen wearing experience.
In addition, the camera must first be released from the holder to take pictures, which is cumbersome and some time will cost the Capture Clip.
By comparison, the Backpack straps are not only equal to less expensive but more convenient, flexible and functional. The straps are attached to the front left and right shoulder strap of the backpack. As a counterpart, however, I use other (longer) Clips from OP / Tech (coming from a camera strap OP / Tech).
The benefits of the straps from my point of view are:
- Relatively low price
- Comparatively low weight
- Flexibly combined with a variety of other straps and clips of OP / Tech
- Balanced weight distribution: the camera hangs centrally in front of the chest, the emphasis is placed evenly on both shoulders, not suppressed
- For taking pictures, the camera must not be resolved, they are taken just before the eye and can take pictures immediately
My conclusion: For backpackers who want to carry their camera on the body, there is nothing better.
