The songs of this album have all catchy beautiful melodies. Impressive stories are here told us in a musical way, and with a passion, as you would not know otherwise by Paul Anka. Creeps and hot flashes are guaranteed when embarking on the individual overall compositions. And you have to, otherwise you'll miss the best part: Paul Anka was at work and shows here once again impressively how musical diversity and perfectionism look.
The lyrics are very easy to understand and the tunes are so catchy that you already sings the songs spontaneously after a few times listening.
A song on this album stands out, however, especially. He begins with a penetrating rhythm, which is modeled on a heartbeat and builds through crescendierend until the end of the song, and always halting and gross anmutet. This rhythm underlines the seriousness of the text, which is amazingly melancholy and lamenting healthy. FLASHBACK is a rather atypical, but all the more interesting song by Paul Anka. One imagines the sadness of the sung words unceremoniously inverted before and knows why the song sounds like it sounds. An absolutely worthwhile Track - surprisingly different, unusual and unexpected!
This is a thoroughly enjoyable album that is quite suitable for the way listening. But you should be sure (as with so many songs that come from Paul Anka's spring) take the time to let these songs act in their overall design to be. A rainy Sunday afternoon is because currently the best, because then you can deeply relaxed plunge on the sofa in this world of sound and drift. Unfortunately, after 12 songs already final and one wishes that this album never ends.
I had the choice between this album and the album Classic Songs, My Way, another swing album. I chose this one and it was just right.
