As my old Samsung hard drive so slowly gives up the ghost, I bought this hard drive because of the good reviews. By design, nothing unusual. Even with continuous use it remains cool with me 21 ° C! Using HD Tune I could tip transfers of 117 MB / s measured (my old Spinpoint 2004 was max. 54 MB / s) and the average access time of 14.2 ms in the test, making it even a little faster than my old (15.9 ms ). All in all I am satisfied so far. It will show the time, how long the drive can handle these hurdles. However, the low temperature is likely to help. Incidentally, I must note, however, that so far all of my hard drives if Maxtor or Samsung, after the warranty period or to one year or thereafter (ie between 2 and 4 years total life time) were broken.
