So was the second album, right, reserved and even equal bought the vinyl of their debut in this train.
Recently, I then stumbled across the message that Grant a concert with the BBC Philharmonic have played and this will be published at the end, by popular demand, as a CD. Last week, it was time, at last, I could hear the disc and am thrilled. It offers a ninety minutes finest music, the thing first.
Even the eröffnente, opulent, It Does not Matter To Him be, a plunge into the concert and you sit in the subsequent period as paralyzed and amazed what a singer and the sixty-strong orchestra since conjure out of the speakers. It almost makes the impression as if Grant songs always like to be staged, which is obviously not so. You can feel and hear at every moment out the original.
Even the songs of, significantly more electronic, second plates are perfectly realized by the orchestra. A big compliment to the person who has everything rearranged. Even the outbreak in Queen of Denmark fits like the fist on the eye, all combined with the wonderful live voice John Grant is just great to listen and the ninety minutes flying almost past one and remains at the end of a only one, back to beginning and listen again.
This record is so perfect for the cold days, a glass of red wine or a hot tea, and of John Grant and the BBC Orchestra are easy to pick up and enjoy. For me, clearly, one of the best live boards in recent years.
Too bad that it is not for them as vinyl, that would the whole thing put on the crown.
Strong buy recommendation
