Installed in minutes on an ASRock 990FX EXTREME3 and 4 x 2GB Corsair DDR3 XMS3 without worry.
The star less is supplied to the cooler, unsurprisingly it is rather noisy. Once the processor is stressed, the fan rises to over 3,500 rev / min and it means a lot.
We must recognize that, compared to commercially available coolers, the fan installed is small (I have not measured, but it seemed to be smaller than my 8cm fans).
So if you want a silent computer will require investment.
As for the processor itself, no complaints. In Windows 8, the 8 cores are well recognized and appear to be well managed. Coming from a little old machines (Core 2 Duo and Athlon X2), the day and night ^^
Make multitasking is a real pleasure, different beings software distributed over the available cores.
And if you really are afraid of running out of power, the processor being unrestrained, you are free to overclock your processor!
