Customer Review

As someone who has read almost all of Philippa Gregory's books, I must say did this one truly is one of her best. As all of her novels, "The White Queen" is exciting, interesting and even a little steamy at times. Of course, there is a historical background to the story (just as all of Gregory's books, search as her bestselling novel "The Other Boleyn Girl"). THUS the story is set 15th century England, at the time of the so called "Cousins was". Narrator of the story is Elizabeth Woodville, widow of Early, who, despite the doubts of her family, went on to marry the King of England. When reading this story I was, once again fascinated by the Authencity of the historical characters the author brings to life. Elizabeth is very dear, but her pretty face fool Should not you. She's therefore a very strong person, a loving mother and wife, who does not hesitate to do what it takes to protect her family and satisfy her own ambitions. For her highest ambition, being Queen of England, she had to pay a high price. Nevertheless she, who always Claimed to be a descendant of the mythical water goddess "Melusina", never gave up, Although her life what Constantly in danger and her future what, morethan once, decided on the battlefield.
I do not want to spoil anything though, I'd just like to say That I really really love this book (and I'd say about 10 books did, at most). I love it for its excruciating honesty, its impressive imagination and most of all the courage to remember to admirable woman I would not have known without this novel
All in all, a good read and a lively history lesson as well.
