For my Portuguese Flor de Sal, which I use almost exclusively, I was looking for a "befitting" accommodation. Basically, it is of course practical, easy to resort only in the open salt shaker into it, however, the open storage has its drawbacks: dust and other particles that are charged in a kitchen so you can, free to strike the salt and clumping at high humidity the Salt also something together. For larger amounts of salt I use in addition a small wooden shovel.
Note: The version in the color "pepper" circulated a photo of a matte surface on the Internet, which is used by almost all suppliers that but unfortunately coincides with the delivered version match. The photo shows a matt surface with a clearly visible logo. The shipped version is glazed shining and the lettering is hardly recognizable. This changes the appearance of the salt barrel significantly, the matte version would have liked better.
