After some research, I found in a Z3 forum a very good solution, when a subwoofer is installed behind the glove compartment.
There, the predecessor has been used. This device is found, ordered and installed.
To install:
I have an absolute layman car requires about 3.5 hours with a few coffee breaks.
That's certainly faster if you have more idea and / or chooses a less complicated installation.
At the included manual you could clearly see which cable belongs where.
The cables themselves are also labeled again.
I have dismantled the glove compartment, disassembled support frame for ECU, localized cable duct in the engine compartment.
Then the yellow power cord neatly routed through the cable channel in a fuse box and from there to the remote starting point in the engine compartment and connected. On cable I have for cable routing securing first removed (otherwise hardly fit through the cable channel) and then reattached.
The blue remote cable to the provided remote connector of my Pioneer radios attached.
The ground attached to a screw in the car body.
On the front wall in the passenger footwell behind the holding frame are three seemingly Unused thread / holes. The left which I used as a breakpoint above links the subwoofer. By beigeleten Anschlussmaterial simply mounted.
For mounting bottom right angle with customized holes was used. This is attached to a screw in the fender and placed behind the carpet. With the included mounting hardware, I have the subwoofer then mounted on the bottom right corner. Budge and does not vibrate, etc.
Then I have the RCA outputs of the radio connected to the input of the subwoofer. Caution: an RCA cable must be ordered separately!
The wired remote control I have transverse mounted next to the cigarette lighter, the cable was laid in the passenger footwell between carpet and center console cover.
Then all cables are hidden. Here, make sure that depending on the cable surplus adjusting the interior ventilation is not impaired.
In general, the use of cable ties is recommended etc.
At the holding frame of the controllers the two lower shafts were cut off - they have not been used.
Holding frame including ECUs reinstated, built glove compartment. This remains fully functional.
This leaves only the bottom cover of the glove compartment and the sawed-off remnant of the holding frame of the control units.
The device is visible in the footwell about half.
For sound:
Switched radio and already achieved with minimal adjustments, a very good result.
About the mounted within reach wired remote control can still readjust if need be.
An incredible asset for the size of the sound spectrum. I would not expect such a good result, I'm thrilled.
Of course one must not expect the pressure of a rieisigen system, but for the Z3 Roadster is more than enough of.
Finally even with faster journey decent music.
From me a strong buy recommendation. Value for money is top here.
