I am not an economist but absolutely the events are recounted in the book and the economic concepts that are addressed, are very clearly making subjects that might seem very affordable complex. So we really feel to learn things, to rediscover the history of this period of a German point of view, which is very interesting. In short, this book gives us the feeling we grow while entertaining us. It very easily advance in the book.
I was a bit scared at the beginning of the book, because I found that there were a lot of redundancy, for example regarding the description of Hjalmar Shacht or his involvement in Nazi history, the mode: "you will discover in this book the role he played. " We want to say: Ok, that's why I chose to read the book, so now explain me what is past and stop repeat what you say later.
The other thing I reproach is the bias exposed way too pronounced. We are far from an objective historical presentation. It is indeed a novel that exposes the historical facts of the author's point of view.
The author chose to alternate chapters where we in some Hjalmar Shacht which is expressed and the other author who gets the presentation of the historical facts of an outside perspective. One wonders what legitimacy it has to do so speak Hjalmar Shacht but pass this questioning, I must say that this structure works quite well and this alternation makes the dynamic book.
In conclusion, this is a book I recommend for those who want to discover a little known aspect of German history while having fun.
