Still, I'd the game after 2 hours, you almost put away. For the following reasons:
- Control
Am I the only one who has felt the control as terribly vague and imprecise?
You can not make small precise steps, either Lara goes a meter or not. In the cover means that you can be either discovered the risk comes in, because you can still get easy looks or you risk a small step and it jumps out entirely behind the same cover.
Although the automatic cover to be useful in principle (even if you then always equal knows that opponents are ahead), it is in conjunction with the spongy control often anything but helpful. Especially at the edges, it is a gamble.
One reviewer has already said very aptly: I should be able to control the game, not the game myself.
Likewise, I have felt the targets. Fine motor skills no question. Even small movements of the enemy become a problem because the crosshairs either not at all or much overreact. Making a mouse, is almost impossible. The machine gun is then no longer plays a major role in such a way but od with bow. Gun is a waste of ammo.
And even though you can set the target sensitivity, it makes no noticeable difference whether one chooses sensitivity level 1 or 10. I even think that the worst targeting has with whom I had to do so far.
A very bad combination with the Wackelcam the game.
In addition, / must be Lara's movement in the air, so check when jumping. Thus, they can even jump around corners or id air change direction, which is kind of very ugly in such a beautiful game.
- Camera
The camera is shaking all the time, which is probably intended to ensure greater realism and dynamism, instead one has rather the feeling of being on a boat until you become seasick.
- QTE
are, even if only one button to push, saunervig. It is not clear when and how to press. There's even a QTE in which a button (only) lights up, but you have repeatedly! Or decreasing circles are misleading, because you need a lot of attempts to realize that you have to cover them not to wait, but simply has to press only very quickly!
CONCLUSION:
The giant hype about Tomb Raider I can not understand (I would have bought me anyway but still).
It has become a really nice part playing to the music and the colors fit great. The story is very nice and Nora Tschirner does her job as dt. Voice Lara's also very good.
It really fits everything, sometimes it is even really exciting and captivates the player. But those moments when it is staged fantastic or a wow effect had on me, I can count on one hand.
Until the habit has me most is the loose camera disturbed in any situation and movement. Hardly a chance to capture the beautiful surroundings in detail. She makes really broken beautiful moments because you simply lack recognizes. In glissades and fast sequences wirds only more annoying.
For me remain some great dramatic productions and beautiful partly very great graphics. But the bottom line is Tomb Raider is just a really (very) pretty and just only nice, pretty simple game.
Therefore 3.5 Total, fun 3 stars.
