Lots of music in these parts for harpsichord Jacques Duphly. They are really worth to be discovered and the music lover there will no doubt find pleasure. Both suites are listening the first book without any trouble: a promising start. A whole range of feelings in the second book; it's brilliant turn round, cheerful, sensitive, dark, dancing, twirling, proud, poetic, sad, gay, martial, conquering ... the listener's attention is unwavering. On September 10 parts, the third book we offer six with violin accompaniment: a brown variety of sound quite welcome and solo pieces are always quality. The fourth book was published the same year as the first public appearance of the fortepiano. Possible as the influence of the new instrument becomes, indeed, in this last book but the author delights me to the end. I read somewhere that "Duphly, unfortunately for him, was not Rameau". This is a point of view, but is it really a hierarchy? ... do not spoil our fun. I do not know much about this musician, with some pieces by Gustav Leonhardt and Violaine Cochard and Stéphanie-Marie Degand. However, with only those elements of comparison, the interpretation of Pieter-Jan Belder and Rie Kimura suits me. Somewhat reverberant recording and perhaps caution: strong momentum! a harpsichord is not a symphony orchestra or a ... large organ volume with arguably moderation. As for the price, it's a gift.
