Plustek SmartOffice PS286 Plus

The scanner can be operated very elegant with 3 buttons. Two keys allow to select one of 9 preset functions (+1 and -1). The display shows the set of program. Then press the Scan button and you're done. The actual assignment of the keys is done with a software that runs on 64bit XP and Win7!

Possible are eg scanning to a specific folder on the network (invoice, ..), print to the printer (= Copy feature) PDF with OCR create etc. One could define 4 programs so that in four different folder OCR eg / PDF is created, thus sorting his papers before. Just as easy it is possible to attach a scan to an email or to send a fax (via FaxPrinter). The Plustek can scan both sides in one pass and is quite fix it. In addition, you can scan his business card collection, or even credit cards and store them in an enclosed business card database. A3 I have not been scanned with the "folding method", but could not imagine that this works well. Disadvantage would only do not want to bend each his originals. But after all, it is offered as a feature. After 10 minutes (adjustable) the device goes into sleep mode when not in use. Short click on one of the two program buttons and the scanner is awake again.

I use the part itself ("paperless office") and sell it to my clients - so far there have been no complaints, all are enthusiastic about the Scannerchen. As the name suggests - is smart.
