The whole album seems a little energy and many more pop songs. Christopher has certainly adopted many criticisms of his rather something boring, rippling sounds of the previous album and probably thought, "now I will show it to people that I can do other things";)
The song has split in advance something the fan base, was the theme song "Sun" with the Count of Unheilig. Some found that the count not at all fit the music, while others thought it was wonderful. Because I tend rather to the first category. I found the song by the Arrangement not very good and easy to knit and find the Count also is not necessarily the ideal candidate.
By some songs Schiller's draw typical chords / harmonies where you say "aja that's Schiller". I would even describe it as "Signature Sound". Perhaps deliberately, perhaps even unconsciously. I want to interpret it positively times, you can hear that it is Schiller.
Kim Sanders is not there this time. She has after 10 years probably first enough and dedicated to her own career. Is that bad? No, not at all. I found Kim in recent albums not very good (can of course also have been due to the songs).
Kate Havnevik is back with this that I like very much.
Adam Young of Owl City sing by now for some producers. Of course, a matter of taste whether you like or not his way of "singing", definitely has it brought Christopher for a song on board. Basically Adam matches Schiller, he has himself still a side project "Blue Port" which is also situated rather in ambient area. Parallels to Schiller there is already so, even if the song "Alive" rather goes in the direction of mainstream pop.
I would say, you can hear. Not bad but for me also not the big hit.
With Meredith Call Christopher has other new guest singer this time with this. Good voice, song is also Ok. But somehow .. Yes I do not know ... well made, but it somehow does little past me.
Quite well, I found an instrumental "the third eye". Some interesting ideas and effects hidden in the song. Something you tend not expected Schiller as Christopher terms what effects so is a bit more reserved.
But these are more like the kind of tracks me at Schiller still like best. Unfortunately, in my opinion, works otherwise often the interaction of guest singers and Schiller sound not so very good. Christopher then tried often to bend in a pop direction as "being" is not really.
Overall, I think the album is not bad. Here and there some weaknesses where singers and Schiller sound not really fit together well. One notices the Christopher von Deylen tries to steer a total of more to pop focus. The sales figures of the last albums were not very good with something to 100,000, which compared with other German artists who sell over one million times slightly rather little. Whether this will change with "sun"? Who knows. The Schiller fans will also be pretty no matter how many albums sold Christopher)
