Having already contributed in some places the occasional Christmas song (eg, "My Grown Up Christmas List" on an American Idol Compilation 2003) and his own words some time a desire cherished, even record a Christmas album, we can with "Wrapped In Red "Kelly's total 6th studio album of Christmas Mrs. Clarkson now listen on album length.
On "Wrapped In Red" eleven classic, reinterpreted Weihnachtssongs six all-new, all of Kelly even (co-) offset by written pieces. And in my opinion, are the songs, whether classic or new, all of them really well. One can legitimately ask if it really needs another version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" or "White Christmas". And no, absolutely there needs not. But Kelly's interpretations are definitely among the best I've heard so far. Unlike the majority of pop competition Kelly Clarkson is in fact equipped with a really great voice that sometimes soulful, sometimes rock comes along and every song breathes that little bit extra. With this vocal possibilities shows the album expresses versatile. From pop songs like "Wrapped in Red" on the rocking "Run Run Rudolph" to jazz / soul songs like "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "Silent Night" provides an album a wide range of Christmas sounds, acts but always self-contained and not like a motley mix.
My personal highlights are "Underneath The Tree" - a very fast, cheerful pop song, which incidentally was coupled as a first single and certainly not by chance on Mariah Carey's classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" recalls - "4 Carats" also a brand new song that Kelly's typical pop style skillfully and not exaggerated moves in a Christmas light and "Just For Now", the cover of a relatively young songs of British Imogen Heap.
Anyone who appreciates the one hand, the voice and music of Kelly Clarkson and other, well-made interpretations of Christmas classics, is well advised with this album. Five Stars!
