I am a fan of many years so-called "daylight - lamps". And have my budget almost completely converted to LED bulbs with a color temperature of 5000-6000 Kelvin. Of these LED tubes I have a total of 5, including 3 for more than 5 years do their job. BENEFITS: They consume only one third of the electricity that would consume a neon tube with the same brightness, namely 18 watts instead of 54 watts. The light color of 6000 Kelvin is very pleasant, almost as if in the room the sun shine. The tube is not hidden, and the annoying flicker and hum of a neon tube is omitted completely. I find the LED lighting to be very easy on the eyes. For fans of "soft" light, ie warm white, which would correspond to a color temperature below 5000 Kelvin, there's also plenty of deals. DISADVANTAGES: The LED tube can be removed only in case that feature a replaceable starter (cylindrical part with two contacts, which is usually located under the neon tube in the housing). The LED tube is a "starter" in which replaces the old. Such cases are nowadays hard to get even instead be used for fluorescent lights housing with built-in starter. Such housing can only be used if they are specifically suitable for LED tubes (ask the professionals before buying!). V-TAC offers for its LED tubes of appropriate housing, however, doubled by the cost. BUT: My first LED tube then cost about 70 euros and was already a bargain. Today, this part will cost you about 18 euros + 18 euros once for the housing. Conventional fluorescent tubes are hardly cheaper, and I have not owned that so long held by how my first LED tube. CONCLUSION: It pays off to convert! Strong buy recommendation!
