The Dustbuster is preserved in a round, flat charging station, which is not suitable for wall mounting. The charging station is made of plastic and very light, so you should place the nipple slightly apart to avoid tipping it over. Since he did not take away a lot of space and also quite chic (something futuristic) looks, he now stands with me in the kitchen on the counter, where he is always at hand.
The filter contained in the device can be cleaned in soapy water if necessary and should be replaced every 6-9 months; the replacement filter costs around 10 euros. Current maintenance costs I suppose willing to accept, because the cup is in my household now indispensable, and because it is not exactly cheap, I expect a long life.
Really quiet the Dustbuster is not, but that does not bother me particularly. After all, he usually runs only a few minutes at a time (if at all), because the noise is unbearable. Dog and birds have also used after initial skepticism on the wheel. The indicator light is a small nuisance for me, because it is extremely garish. In the dark, so that the whole kitchen is blue lit, and when the device is charging and the light flashes, comes almost like disco feeling on. I have now solved the problem by means of an adhesive strip. Another small gripe: Very light dirt (dog hair, bird feathers, lining sleeves) like to stay on the outer casing of the filter stick, so you have at (almost) the same time remove and clean the filter every emptying the container. Since both containers can be quickly opened by pressing a button, the time needed but keeps it in check.
Despite these minor shortcomings Overall a really handy device and a real help in the household.
Addendum 20.06.2014:
Meanwhile, I have the device for over 1.5 years and it really is not a day where I do not need it (especially in the kitchen, there is almost always something with me to suck). The housing of the collection container has become a bit scratched, but the suction is still properly. The nipple is with me permanently in the charging station and is in between charged repeatedly. Problems with the battery, it has never been.
