Precious, but with defects

Even with external HD / SSD almost standard - it lacks a LED function control.
'USB drive not recognized' (or something similar) -wohl a defect of the controller: really bad, however, was that the drive from the system (Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 on Sony SVD1121X9EB) logged off repeatedly when copying large amounts of data.
Now I'm waiting for a replacement copy - according to information provided at Amazon probably 4 to 6 weeks.
I had the drive course can tinker from SSD and housing Amazon at a cheaper price myself. But that was too risky, because SSD have their own characteristics compared to HD and the interface must be on specially tuned.
PS. I have the carbon version ordered / tested and not - as indicated by Amazon - stainless steel. But the technical equipment is expected to be identical.

Update review on 04/22/2014:
Because of better availability, I have ordered the stainless steel version as a substitute and received today. Even with this drive came true once in a very long copying the above error, the action could also be continued. Otherwise, the unit is working so far, as expected from me. In connection with the exchange, I have once again done a price comparison for comparable external SSD drives (only this comparison level is correct in my opinion). Currently Brinell is at the bottom. Therefore, I have now upgraded the points, especially since even the customer service has been as eagerly.
I still miss the LED function monitoring - at a soundless drive particularly helpful. You would mE without appreciable loss for the design in addition to the socket for the cable to install a reasonable cost.
