What does retro design (here: analogue of the legendary PEN F from 1963 and as the Olympus E-P5)? I can still remember decades with analog technology, serious DSLR cameras in the area had to first gain a foothold and really good cameras could always score with an elegant design. This is where Olympus builds on. Only at second Bick reveals itself to the viewer that is hidden here a brand new product in a stylish outfit. I like the camera not only looks very good, and that will probably go so many and draw admiring glances to right.
My favorite so far in the segment of the handy 20-Zoomer is the Canon PowerShot SX 260 HS, which I use regularly and love for over two years. For photo inserts but I will now equal the Olympus SH-1 use, since their picture quality across my doubts is sublime and the practical touch screen provides more options. That the longer focal length can ranholen still more distant objects closer, rounds off the thing.
Here's what I can currently report in condensed form:
+ Powerful zoom range (focal length range from 25 to 600 mm according to small picture) which can also be used sensibly and with quite good results; While there are already 30-times zoom on cameras of this size, but it is also important, what really counts; and here the Olympus SH-1 needs not to hide; in this still handy form is a 24 × zoom loose enough to shoot sharp photos especially from the hand can
+ Photo quality: as I had hoped for it: high quality recordings with healthy that natural colors are possible. A (recognizable) image noise is present only at higher ISO values, the Olympus SH-1 here even up to ISO 6400 goes, but what I think is rather exaggerated. One must never forget that in this camera (as well as their contemporaries) only a relatively small 1 / 2.3 sensor has been installed. In conjunction with 16MP So share quite a few pixels up very little space. The weaker the incident light, the faster it roars then tended. Depending on how smart camera technology with the photos (processing u. Compression) handle it, you can see the results then late least detail on the computer. Speaking of details: This is not a DSLR, I, that's why you can not enstprechend superior results expected - good to very good, however already, that's enough (vacation, leisure) for me completely for many purposes from. You zoom in the image processing in the images, you quickly recognize a previously crisp sharp image, the pixels and rushing details. so what ? I plan usually before recording, the size of photos, enlargements are more the exceptions, and I also never prints in A3. Who wants to have perfection must buy another and much more expensive cameras.
+ Sufficiently brisk autofocus, which allows also spontaneous snapshots
+ Chic retro design in black and silver, in particular the black leather look, which probably looks classy even in a few years
+ Perfect processing, wherein the plastic area has a discreet and not cheap and anyway vorhande weight of the camera is somewhat reduced
+ Comfortable and well-to-use touch screen that makes it possible in particular an optimal manual focusing (focus) in situations where the autofocus with me has problems
+ Fast zooming is possible and allows you to capture more distant objects before they're gone
+ The 5-axis image stabilizer is really remarkably well in low light conditions, I had so far hardly want still to work additionally on a tripod; This system was apparently previously reserved and spoiled now when photographing filmmakers - very useful; for long exposures (eg. B. Moon) a tripod is of course inevitable
+ Photo transmission via integrated WiFi z. B. on Tablet is very convenient to be able to view photos quickly and larger (than on the monitor) can
+ Live View and remote triggering via App OI.Share is very comfortable z. B. in group photos on a tripod so that the photographer is itself equal to it.
+ On the same app can also be geotagged transferred, though the camera's battery is spared, but that is at the expense of mobile phones
+ Battery type LI92B's interesting to other Olympus cameras used (eg. B. Olympus SP-100EE) and therefore interchangeable
+/- Relatively wide housing including lens -. But not a real drawback, because such a push must be somehow obstructed, (hence the Tragegurtpflicht / also enters the manufacturer) also highlights the solid weight valence
+/- A high resolution display (without pixel loss) with 460,000 pixels: yes, but not the highest resolution; here are now already not uncommon, for example, 921,600

- WiFi usage costs unfortunately noticeable power - replacement battery is reproach
- No echtesGPS, this I know now from other cameras and think it is a very useful feature - means App OI.Share but can be collected and transferred geotags (see above)
- Maue feature no charger, no memory card and no bag here; so it must be additionally invested
- Devices fitted to the two Außenösen (fixed) brackets for strap I find rather disturbing, because I'm not going to permanently attach the tether strap; Instead, I prefer to work with a hand strap, for which one of the two loops is sufficient; the camera itself is kept in a separate bag
Conclusion: all in one package can be seen in some places where the red pen has been recognized, but that one does not have to wait for the successor model with more Aussstattung. Who wants here and now have a great camera, can strike confidently. Especially in connection with the App OI.Share obtained a very moderenes tool at hand. Olympus can take pictures. Another icing on the equipment I'm missing, unfortunately, so no full points.
