Since that time I bought the Collector's Edition of Wings of Liberty, I will draw a few comparisons.
Packing
The large packaging is very similar to WoL - the top interlocks with the lower part, the whole thing looks nice and is very robust. The contents are also put into a plastic base, which prevents a wild flying around during transport. The Amazon delivery arrived in perfect condition with me.
Artbook
Wow, that makes of her a lot outside! The embossing is very high, the book in A4 format is ideal for beating and Browse. The pictures are quite nice, there is to it but very little text. It contained almost only images of Zerg and Terrans, the Protoss have at the end of the book a few pages out of a total 144. But we wait times on the second add-on that will hopefully then enters the Protoss to the center.
So flashed like the WoL counterpart I was not in this book, what is it perhaps that the artwork is no longer quite as new acts like back then. A real documentation "from the sketches to the finished 3D models", as advertising text promises, it is not - but it's there, too, the making-of.
Making-of, inter alia,
Right at the beginning of the bombastic leader is shown which is particularly effective on the big screen, especially music and sounds also rummsen cinema ripe. This makes looking forward to more! Very nice is also that in addition to the DVD, a Blu-ray is - and not just for decoration, but with significantly better image, which pays off particularly in the opening credits.
The included behind the scenes not only the making of and tutorials, but also Cinematics, presented by short cutscenes, and various extra features with an animated storyboard, pre-rendered animations and artwork, plus two trailer for World of Warcraft (pretty oll), WoL (ok) and Diablo 3 (worth seeing). The extra features are meager total, animation, story and storyboard refer only to the leader, the artwork Slideshow I find boring and uneventful (for I have but the artbook).
The contents are entirely in English, it can subtitles, eg in English and German, will be displayed. In theory at least - I had practically despite setting no subtitles, and could not select on the remote control this! The problem I had in both the Blu-ray as well as DVD, but may be due to my player (Playstation).
I like a look behind the scenes always very happy, then you can appreciate the delivered more. Unfortunately, Blizzard follows here exactly the scheme of the whole PR "documentaries", which always arrive on time for the new cinema blockbusters in private television. People tell her to tidy work completely prepared and uninspired, but how great is everything. Nix nearly so exciting. The review of eSports is exhausting because lengthy, only the tutorials for mapping and cutscene editor are interesting.
Soundtrack
It contains 11 pieces with a total playing time of 1 hour and 14 minutes, which is roughly equivalent to the soundtrack of WoL (14 pieces, 1 hr. 7 min.). But since I already am in the comparison: In Heart of the Swarm each piece seems to serve only the atmosphere, while it is much more heterogeneous in WoL - being particularly "Public Enemy" with the beautiful guitar and harmonica, and of course "I, Mengsk" stick out. Even the opener I like at WoL prefer (perhaps coming through the Star Wars bonds :-)). One can hear the soundtrack but good way.
Mouse Pad
I've not tried it with my mouse and I will grab it directly on my stack of unused pads. For WoL's instead gave a comic, what I would have also preferred desired here.
Skin and Portraits for Use Battlenet
Actually you do not need something like that, but then I've yet equal to the new Banshee portrait of my account used. :-)
WoW Pet, Diablo3 Accessories
For me, the least important, I play WoW neither yet D3. Already WoL had a pet, and I'd love to give my, if it were possible.
Summary
30 Euro difference to the Standard Edition, this soundtrack, artbook, DVD + Blu-ray, for packaging's shelf, mouse pad and Kleinkrams. The Collector's Edition is now something for fans, and I do not regret the purchase. But the big surprise package, as with WoL, it is not quite. Since I got no Blu-ray, but the cool USB flash drive and the better soundtrack, it's also cost 17 euros more - and so is the Heart of the Swarm CE in the same frame.
In short: 30 Euro for these things are ok, but not much more. Would I play WoW or D3, I would have more of the CE. Had me the goodies carved from the socks, it would be 5, so there are still quite nice 4 stars because I am satisfied overall.
