Hello Sound seekers! :)
I ordered this set about 5 months ago from Amazon and would now also after several months of testing write a short review (even if I do this often usually take, but I have almost the urgent feeling that I Logitech speak almost " guilty "am;)).
Shortly beforehand: I may use in the last fifteen years a whole rack of high-quality systems and retest ... because I myself am a musician and would call myself "audiophile" outside the studio than almost nearly, but I put a fairly large value on pure sound quality.
... And my requirements were met without exception from this system, more than that, they were well exceeded! Here only a brief Zusammenfalssung and following the necessary criticism and a few clarifications:
1) sound reproduction of music CDs / files leaves no wish unfulfilled. Instrumental music (rock / jazz / metal / Flamenco) is redefined, now you can hear instruments that you could only imagine in advance with untrained ear. Synthetic music (Pop, Bass Drum, Goa etc.) sounds clear and differentiated, the subwoofer gives the whole then the desired thud). Classical sounds highly differentiated and Again: The instruments come beautifully.
2.) DVD / movie experience: Those who had previously provided only a TV / computer with stereo sound, experienced here suddenly the full cinema program * g *. The best equal to a toslink to Dolby Digital should be left in no case left if one will notice already. The movie experience is phenomenal, especially THX Certified movies of THX UhrHerren Lucas (Star Wars, etc.) are now powerful than ever!
3.) Perfect remote control: It covers all the functions of the device from the control unit must not even be touched, but to be shiny and beautiful with blue lighting on the TV bench :)!
4) Small criticism: As already mentioned a hundred times: The boxes are aligned unfortunately very limited, here I can not understand one hundred percent Logitech, as the "complaints" are generally known. But who has not even two clumsy hands left not thinking here after ... :)
Now I still want one or the other word of the previous (mainly negative) directed Reviewer because here and there perhaps could also be a misunderstanding:
1) First create the coarsest rumor out of the way: the subwoofer hum! This is not the case, although there were many years ago problems for that matter, which Logitech has however eliminated long ago. All new devices are perfectly shielded, so if a device is humming, then either a.) Because the buyer did not read the manual (in explicitly is that one should the Sub eg best several feet from the computer set away / few centimeters from the wall removed, etc.) or because they b.) use a very bad cable.
2.) THX is not a sound format that is decoded by about Z-5500 or the like, which is a guarantee of quality on the part of the film industry that this property manages to sound exactly reproduce as there have been director / producer thought ( Say: True Cinema). It is difficult to achieve such quality, so you should the appendage "THX certified" may actually be taken seriously.
3.) That some people a blecheren / muddy / or similar. Have sound, might be due to a production error. It is nunmal so that Logitech makes a good business with this system ... it is very often over the counter and as it is now times in all products so, there may be work Conditional quality variations here too. We actually found almost only "perfect" ratings, only occasionally found "highly disappointed" people ... I think therefore that I could keep quite right. It comes naturally also depends on what use these people to other materials! One should take example that you do not similar all possible wild cobbled together Equalizer Presets the sound card / Winamp / PowerDVD during system change maintains. When doing this it is no wonder that only mud comes out, but a gross error of the user ... and that's not the only thing you can do everything so wrong :)
4.) The people complain that after unpacking or after two weeks something was broke, I can not understand. That's not an appropriate criticism of the system, but a simple case of warranty, the one makes up (through minimum waiting time) loose again. And that can be found everywhere. Again, for me: What require the people that ?! A system that is supported at this price by a security team to the front door, to exclude any shipping damage to ?! No. If you want that, and you, the time is too bad to call Logitech and exchange the part 'buys Bose. And it sets a five or thousands.
Conclusion: Who is interested in the system, order immediately, try, love or the unit return (do not forget we are in Germany, so you have a nice gimmick here, which is called right of return;)). For my part I confess myself to buy this year!
