The 4.0 and 5.0 Ah batteries fit into this adapter, even if the lawn mower in the type designation starts with a B. Normally, these batteries are suitable according to the description on the web pages of Makita.de only in devices beginning with the letter D, but there are exceptions, such as the lawnmower. If necessary, just ask at Makita.
Conclusion: A powerful, lighter, more agile and robust cordless lawn mower is very easy to handle. If one maintains the unit including the battery well and treated, there is safe for many years an (almost) Maintenance-free product. Only the knives are Sometime dull and the sickle blade needs to be replaced. Maybe leave the knife also regrinding. For a lawn of 250 square meters, from 2 x 18 volt batteries with 4.0 Ah, in a grassy area of about 250 square meters I'd recommend 2 x 18 volt batteries with 5.0 Ah capacity, if you mow it with a cargo of two batteries want.
