I had a miniDP to HDMI cable on my screen black bars left and right, because my MBP obviously not more by the HDMI cable sends (a lenovo laptop 2013 had no problems)
the miniDP on DP there was the problem no longer and all 2560 pixels have been used across the board. fine.
