Have so my Dell U2711 connected to my Mac Pro. Unstable, it works flawlessly. For this purpose, probably regarding. Price / quality the best solution. For mobile purposes like Macbook Pro in my view not appropriate, since the adapter is relatively large and easy to slip out during operation (tested myself).
