Installation (XP SP2) takes place automatically and the setting as a recording device is also performed automatically. Unfortunately, the input level is not regulated, the modulation was but just right. I'm assuming that the level for Line in / out are standardized and it should not come as verclippten recordings.
The audio quality sounds very good - my first record dubbing (played wet from my hi-fi amplifier "Rec Out" in the "Line In") had a signal to noise ratio of over 90dB (1kHz up)! Even better, it can actually go only with high-end studio equipment.
Bundled software includes the open source audio editor "Audacity" which seems to be pretty good, and the light version of Mehrspursequenzers "energyXT" with tons of VST instruments and effects plug-ins. They are for this particular hardware though useless, but given I take so whatever like, if I come to again to do multi-track recording with a band.
CONCLUSION: Beautiful unit at a fantastic price. Behringer halt.
