The Video Grabber works well if you have the correct driver. I use Win7 on a laptop with Vista by factory, but only the XP driver (on the CD) worked. So do not always trust the guidance. According to the manual you have to load before you install under Win7 the latest driver from the manufacturer's site. Try all drivers. (Incorrect driver but also to uninstall !!) If it's the right thing one has a good image and stereo audio via the audio inputs of the grabber. There is then no further sound card required. For sound cards, the problem occurs, the video and audio can not walk Syncron. So better take only the Video Grabber. I digitize VHS Video 8 and to Mpeg and it works well. But do not expect miracles. Who wants to see his old movies in optimum quality on DVD should go to a professional and can convert there with high-tech equipment. (Is not that expensive. Everything is a matter of personal value of the video) Who but his old videos fast times from wants to see hard drive and is ready also to look with a smaller screen, which is well served with Video Grabber. Even the included Ulead Video Studio is fully sufficient for simple video editing. Very easy to use !! I have never done video editing, but hammer out in a few minutes by section A and fade and clean transitions program. Own sound or music can also insert. So get to work before the old videos dissolve definitively.
