Psychological thriller

I discovered, perhaps like many others, Emmanuel Carrère and especially the novel entitled "mustache", thanks to the film of the same name recently released in theaters. The trailer of the movie made me want to read the book ... and that's what I did. Frankly, I do not regret it at all.
"Mustache" is the story of a man, the narrator of the story, which by play and to surprise his wife and friends shaves off his mustache. Harmless act in itself. Harmless? Think again. This act will instead be the beginning of psychological torture that will give the unsustainable. What to do to get out of this dark impasse? What is the state of the exact locations of the situation? The player let alone the narrator, are only able to say for sure. How the narrator he can turn the situation to its advantage and above all, he will have the power and courage?
The writing of Emmanuel Carrère, alert and swirling takes us by leaving us only one possible way out, the end of the novel.
While the first part of the book is more breathless than the second, one is bound by history and we are eager to know the outcome.
"Mustache" is like a boxing match. The advantage of a trip to another part, situations reversals succeed each other, going from hope to despair, from darkness to the clearing. The psychological drama side is ever present and affects readers and characters like a lead weight.
Well done Mr. Carrère. You have woven your canvas and I got caught in it without being able to stand in.
