Tamron AF 17-50mm 2.8 XR Di II LD ASL digital Lens for Canon (camera)

Customer Review

I want to perform with this recession is no test in the traditional sense, the ending anyway mostly in Pixelpeeperei. Ultimately, there are many beautiful lenses and you should find the right for his application out. I have here the wavered in my decision between the reviewed Tamron 17-50 2.8 with no OS, the OS, the Sigma 17-50 with 2.8 OS and the Sigma 18-35 1.8 (without OS). The Canon 18-55 2.8 was also on the list.
Thought it was as always top. Primary areas of application should be pictures of the family in everyday life, family in studio situations, and now and then wedding accompaniments.
Especially in the latter, I've worked a lot with the Nikon D90 and the Nikon 35mm 1.8er and was always very satisfied. The D90 was stolen in late 2013 and then I ended up with the Canon 70D. The family theme was now added by their own offspring. Here it is difficult without a zoom and then more likely to lead to missed shots.
The Tamron 17-50 without OS has promised me most of the data and according to reports and images in Inet:
- The somewhat restless Bokeh in close shots Likes
- It is small and light and therefore Suited also for traveling.
- The filter size fits my existing filters.
- Together with a good message and a second body was the objective a solid blend traveling with a two-body equipment.

The Canon 18-55 2.8 splints me something expensive and generally annoying the Canon additional purchase of a sun visor. Naughty at this price. When it comes to dimensions nothing special

Against the Tamron 17-50 with OS I decided because of the dimensions. OS I did not primät important because I already work for my inserts usually with short exposures to freeze the motion. That saves weight and improper filter size languages for the variant without OS. (The image quality is according to recent tests do not deviate more)

The Sigma 17-50 2.8 seemed interesting but the large filter size but has put me off, it does not fit so unfortunately in my photo hardcase.

The Sigma 18-35 1.8 seemed too expensive at first. The dimensions speak seriously to a permanent Leaded in Fotorucksack. What it does offer other advantages.

All of these things, it has also been met. However, the autofocus did not like so. The noise that this causes is really unpleasantly loud. In Famlienalltag it falls on and especially at weddings in quiet moments, I would not stand steadily when focusing with a clearly audible chirping. In LiveView it also seemed to react rather sluggishly and pumping me. In the first shooting I had unfortunately some Fehlfokusierungen (AF Justiage is done) but which I do not necessarily want to blame the lens. The 70D is there just something bitchy.

Therefore, the lens went back. Whether the version with OS has the Probelm well I can not say I did not want to try it. Even though I had previously done with the Tamron 90 2.8er only good experiences and very zufireden also with the AF.
Recently, I have the Sigma 18-35 1.8. Of which I am so far impressed. Knackscharf, again more potential in cropping and in dark rooms. The key for Burns wide range is covered. Great for my purposes but unfortunately a huge chunk - for the journey there is definitely nothing more, for 1a for family, wedding escort and people shoot.
