Robert Cray is me the first time ran into on the DVD "Crossroads Festival". Here Eric Clapton invited renowned guitarist to make for a good cause for a whole weekend music. Robert Cray played here "Time Makes Two", also discussed on the CD. The song was impressive, but I had been told -from Clapton fans- it was the only viable album from him. This however is not true. I could hear Robert Cray in Cologne as a support act to Clapton live in 2006 and was thrilled! And by the very preliminary program can be heard much on Live From Across The Pond. It behaves like the belonging to the Tour of Cray album "Twenty". Right off the bat like a two, three catchy songs that bring a certain rhythm to be played with Power. On the CD are discussed this "Phone Booth," which opens the album, "Right Next Door" as the classic, "I'm Walking" also. And then there are all the songs that appeal to a the second, third, fourth listening, you simply have to attend. About "I Was Warned" which somehow Tango and also the Far East, India may remember, with an exciting solo. Or "The One In The Middle", where Jim Pugh comes on the organ in solo to speak.
The only pity: "That Is not Love" from the album "Twenty" is missing, and "I'm Walkin '" comes on "Twenty" something impressive, massive therefore.
But: No reason, "Live From Across The Pond" skip.
