Much more convincing I find but still the functional values:
+ Good ironing result, better than my previous Siemens device, and I also found quite well.
+ Good ergonomics. It is quite heavy, but has advantages and disadvantages: a heavy iron flatten better. There is good in the hand and especially ...
+ ... The steam lever is super good to use. In the beginning he had to use only with a heavy Kancksen and I wanted to return the unit almost angry. But that was really only at the beginning, after a short time it was smoother and can be nu really serve well. In the upper (middle) position, the steam is made, which should be selected if you park the iron in order for example to lay the shirt different. Placed to the right or left is the normal steam operation (Eco mode, see below). And if one pushes it down further, the vapor is stronger. (In addition, there is the shot of steam on the button above)
+ Eco Mode: Whether he really saves 30% energy, as Rowenta says I do not know, but judging steam consumption after it does the With my old Siemens I had water at about the same size tank for 4 to 5 shirts refill. when Rowenta after 9 Shirts! This not only saves power, but also the hassle of refilling.
+ The sole glides easily and pleasantly.
+ The entire processing a quality image.
+ The water tank is automatically closed by closing the filling valve with a stopper.
+ The heating from room temperature to level 3 is only 1 minute.
+ There is a motion sensor that automatically switches off the iron with no movement in the horizontal position after 30 seconds, in an oblique / vertical position after 8 minutes.
+ The specially shaped tip is also helpful here and there, but not as much as it wants to tell a Rowenta. Certainly not a killer feature, but certainly also not a disadvantage.
A few disadvantages would also mention yet:
- The cable is relatively short. If, like me, has a socket on the ironing board, which is safe even be an advantage, but whom the lack, will miss at least one meter cable.
- The Aufheizleuchte can be seen only from the left. For right not bad, left-handers have to watch the iron around.
- The enclosed Auffülldose is very simple. The plastic acts quality, but the dreary blue-gray does not fit to send black and green of the iron, and even worse: The shape of the spout makes it difficult to fill water spills freely. Since I prefer to continue my old Siemens beaker which had a decent spout about like a teapot.
- The operating manual is kept very poor. Figure numbers in the text does not match the pictures. Above all, I hate it when not immediately obvious statements are made, without notice.
- The rear (the striking from behind to a Volvo recalls) is very expansive. Thus, the iron fits poorly into the holder of my Leifheit ironing board. Although the shake test proves that it is still safe, even for well-placed "tabs" on the back, but feel good when you do not clean places.
Long-term experience I have to do yet, and the cleaning function I could not test.
All in all, however, I am still very satisfied. The mentioned drawbacks for me are all bearable, but lead to a star deduction.
With the steam selector lever and the Eco mode, I think it the more expensive DW 9140 for superior that even the somewhat awkward grip switch has top, which you have to keep getting pushed. The smaller sister model over I think it is superior, but everyone needs because even know if the 20 extra cost is worth it.
