Application

The computer is a replacement for a faulty desktop PC with Windows 8, the one morning did not want to start. Come into their own years, I now have no desire to torment me with individual components of the PCs around and have struggled through to a finished PC.
The system serves primarily as video editing and conversion tool. From time to time it may actually even a Steam game be, but otherwise the system is with me mainly as office system in use.

The component costs while commercially aggregated about 80 euros more than in this compilation. It is the effort of having to assemble the individual components, not counting. So someone wants to use an out-of-the-box system, he goes low with this system. However, the flexibility of its own compilation (eg quieter CPU fan) is lost.
The USB wireless stick is enclosed separately, here I would reference to the product description on Amazon expects this function is achieved via PCI card or onboard. The USB flash drive consumes a port and must be mounted outside the unit.
Processing & Optics

The processing of the case and the internal components is good. I have discovered no sharp edges or surfaces. By a few additional components in the device (hard drive, card reader, DVD drive) are just a few cables in use and the interior is "clear".
What is striking when you first turn the large blue glowing ring around the power button. This lights up continuously during operation, so that in darker environments this may be regarded as disturbing light source when the PC is for example on the desktop.
Below is a small red LED, which signals disk activity - this is decent and helps load on the hard disks to detect.
At the front, already some connections (acoustics and USB) are integrated into the housing. In addition, all easily accessible through the card reader of modern interfaces, so that for example, USB flash drives or photo SD cards can be connected. What I find positive is that the volumes are displayed only when used in Windows. There I had made with another card reader, other experiences, as always 10 drives were occupied without benefits. Here is not the case, what use in the Explorer considerably simplified.
Function

The system is perfectly adequate for my use of the video editing. In addition to managing photos, iTunes library, e.mails and processing less office documents everything on board that you need. As Office system is perhaps also a weaker system than adequate, but computationally intensive functions with this system are already clear liquid to do.
As I come from an old system, I also have older PC components such as specially DVD drives or hard drives. Here it should be noted that you should think twice about the purchase if you want to take with old components - the motherboard does not have built-in IDE bus more, leaving only SATA devices can be connected. That's for my old DVD drives a shame, because these are still functioning and I would not like to produce electrical scrap.
Also on the motherboard has an ATI Radeon HD 3000 GPU integrated, so that a use without the included Radeon 6670 would be possible. Since the ATI Radeon 6670 is, however, actively cooled, these with appropriate graphics performance (or higher clocks) may interfere with unpleasant fan noise, just as this is a small fan (= high frequency noise). Here I would have liked to but also a product version without the graphics card because for desktop PCs, the integrated 3000 should be sufficient (but this would not be a "gaming" PC more).
Performance

The performance of the system in my opinion, great! Okay, I come from a 7-year-old dual-core carrot. Since the Hexa-Core is a significant acceleration in the field of video processing already.
For example, processing that previously Gerbraucht about 45 minutes on average now completed in 25 minutes. This is of course a significant gain in time and in as long as I am fully satisfied. Also helping the 1Gbit network at the access on the LAN, now that the data store can theoretically happen on the network and I do not necessarily have to hold large files locally.
The graphics performance of the ATI Radeon HD 6670 itself I can not judge, but announces Windows 8 a performance index of 5.9. The graphics card is for this display is the weakest link, ie the overall performance index of Windows is thus a total of 5.9.
When testing a gamer relevant assessment I have time on Steam and Half-Life: relative Lost Coast. The download should take just under 3GB and 3h17m. But already when you start the download Steam has the time to play with less than 15 minutes calculated (1.6MB / s download).
The Half Life: Lost Coast graphics performance value is in the system 152.56fps (1024x768) and 172.22 (1600x1200). What is the relationship these values can also be seen on other systems or configurations, I can not judge. Subjectively, it has wiggled during the test at one point or another have something, but that's my view of such a system but okay.
With the integrated HD3000 graphics card Windows 8 achieved with otherwise identical constellation a performance index of 4.1 (with max resolution of 1920x1080.) And Half Life: Lost Coast in 1600x1200 approx .24.54fps. This is of course in addition to the built-in Radeon 6670 is a significant difference.
Volume

I was a bit surprised by the volume. I can not determine in terms of volume as described in the product description quiet and well-cooled property. I have allowed myself the fun times and had the volume on the device measured with the iPhone app "decibel". I have the following displays at a distance of 10cm measured.
- Front (no load): 55dB
- Above (with load): 60dB
- CD drive (no operation): 60dB
- CD drive (read mode): 65dB
- Power supply (without load): 68dB
I feel the system as "loud" as is close to the user. When using the system standing on the floor under the table, just an arm's length away. The fans go to me after some time to the spirit, so I can not imagine a longer document "at rest" to write to the system. In quiet environments the system is only limited use as "office system". As a gaming PC that likes to play with appropriate sound through the sound system is no longer relevant.
In a "geneueren" measurement system has the interior to get on all components about 60dB, unless in the vicinity of the power supply. Here is approximately 70dB also inside the "polluter pays" significantly. The power supply unit, with connections both internally and externally appears to be the main source of noise. Here you could possibly subsequently invest in a quieter model.
