Quite nice, but in need of improvement

Bought the directions in order to transmit different, pre-planned routes on different Navigeräte can. Because this software is no longer part of Navigeräte (my first Medion device had thereby a PC directions, very helpful), so had to be something else. The choice of programs is not as huge and if man then also studied suitable routes or inspiration for other routes for motorcycles, is not much left.

The "Motorcycle Trip Planner" was for me as a motorcyclist so the obvious.

Installation was straightforward. But the program start takes regularly up to a minute !! (At least on my laptop with current technology and 2GB RAM !!).

There are already quite a few tour suggestions for various European regions available. Apparently, primarily small low-traffic routes are proposed, which I personally welcome. Tourist highlights but you have to find yourself (Example Here you go: In Styria, the so-called missing Soboth may only partially challenging, but not everyone wants to explore the last groove ......). Here, then, could still be reworked and supplemented.

Once a route has been found, or put together, this is to be transferred to the navigation device. There hooked something. One could make happy the three most common navigation devices, the manufacturer Navigon, TomTom and Garmin with the route.

My Navigon was but I -if it hatte- not already infected at startup via USB not found. So Save route (which is only in the form of "export", Save or Save As ... does not exist).
My TomTom was never found. For this you can draw on the detour export and Windows Explorer the ITN file on the TomTom device, which does not work at Navigon.

Unfortunately, the route has to be once completely counted before saving / exporting. So if you have to work with intermediate results / wants only can save the graphic card and import back the next program start.

Planned over the past ten months, I have created about 10 routes plus variations. And I've found that the Ursprungswegpunkte leave when using a already calculated route to the variant creation to delete incorrect. At first it looks as if the route point -as desired-deleted (or moved) was, in the route calculation but all points (new and old) back. Prompt is wrong the result.

Has helped to re-create each route and each variant. With difficulty, but the easiest option before examining the unnecessary route points ....

Tip (applies to all directions!): Using the correct scale When setting waypoints. Who "drops" a waypoint that is just so surprised at the real shutting down the route, why must be turned so often. So zoom back each route point close Looking through the final course of the road.

From a motorcycle Route planner I would have expected a better integration of motorcycle-friendly hotel by the way. MoHo (Motorcycle hotels in Austria) are not included, the selectable Varta Guide is there also not productive. Other regions I have not been studied.

The program window settings could be at my installation incidentally not permanently fixed. After each restart, I had again a 50: 50-window division for route planning and graphic card.

Very pretty is the function GPS points. Who has a suitable device can import a route traversed the route points in the software and then display the route. This is however in Google Earth as well. Speaking of Google (Maps and Earth). The program offers the possibility to export KML files. This allows the pre-planned route in Google Earth to "fly". For this one should however a fast DSL connection have (> 2Mbit).

Conclusion:

Not quite mature solution with growth potential. In some capacity, I had the impression of working with a beta version. But before you plan the route on navigation system, on the small display ....... can only hope that one of those responsible for publishing my review reads or manufacturer sometimes.
