Although its name does not clearly indicate, this camera is a RAID array for 8 SATA drives: 2 groups of 4 discs. I installed with 8 drives of 2TB for a useful volume of 12 TB, and it works well. It is an economic solution to add a large secure storage to a PC or server, the bay is quiet and connectable via USB or eSATA. But little information is available about the performance, caching, and I ... was not able to operate the eSata interface with a ProLiant server. I did not find any administration interface, the bay is seen as a large disk whose only visible status via the LEDs in front. So I preferred to return the product and replace it with two NAS servers, which does not mean that the product is interesting for those who simply want to increase their storage space.
