This is my second HD Collection after Sly Trilogy and I must say right at the beginning that I am not quite satisfied this time.
Whereas we still had at the Sly Trilogy feel: "Yes, here the graphic was really screwed up and everything else is perfect 1: 1 were taken," we find in the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection at regular intervals errors, bugs and imperfections that were so absent on the PS2.
About the story of the 3 games I do not say anything that could be known; No. My review is from the port to the HD with all associated smears and shortcomings.
Generally positive first:
- Clear the graphic was properly hochgetuft on HD and is mostly sharp and present without compromising the game. Only the Gadgetron and MegaCorp-stalls have wandering a really vermatschten lettering around, but about to get away.
- 3 times platinum trophy support, I was able to achieve all 3 without bugs (further on this later)
Generally negative:
- The story sequences are present in all 3 parts in 4: 3 format and the old resolution, as these videos are vorgerändert. As someone who was probably the effort too great, the videos to re-render with adapted and revised graphics. But ok, too, is still tolerated.
- What's wirlich sad, for an old Ratchet fan like me, is the fact that the "Ratchet & Clank1,2,3" lettering does not fit on the back cover to the underneath lying images. What is this? As was clearly geschusselt and how something comes through the quality control is just ridiculous. In Ratchet & Clank1 a picture of Ratchet & Clank2 and the Ratchet & Clank3 lettering is a picture of Ratchet & Clank1. Alone in Part 2 is true for. I think that's irgentlich sad that because apparently no one has watched it.
So now the next, the individual parts! I've played through in chronological order and already knew all parts (, knew so what should happen)
Bugs:
Ratchet & Clank1:
- The air display with the bubbles do not disappear after surfacing right out of the picture, but is then permanently until they leave the planet right half Šichtař
- Frame loss or slowdowns when using Visibombenwerfers just before impact of air ships (the special noticeable)
- (Not a real bug) trophy is collect 1,000,000 Bolts actually outside any relation. One would have to play the game by about 5 times to get to as an amount (Bolts must not even be collected once, but it is enough if you have ever had so many Bolts, ie including the issued Bolts). I have at this point when I play through after 2 had all the other trophies, a glitch in Black Warter uses of got me in about 8 hours, the remaining 600,000 Bolts.
-> All in all, the best playable part, with smaller weaknesses. There would be another 5 stars from me.
Ratchet & Clank2:
- I had 2 times the bug that when you press the triangle button my weapon selection menu is no longer opened. (Only when reloading the save game we went back)
- There is a quark-video sequence without sound (quality control?)
- The MegaCorp-weapons plant Guided tours (insider Remember the rocket and the witty lyrics) has no audio track !! (Which is absolutely a shame and a no-go)
- 1x Freeze when trying to activate the armor machine (only wanted to buy a new suit of armor) - PS3 restarting
- (Not a real bug) Here the trophy 2,000,000 Bolts should be collected. This is compared with the trophy in Part 1 ridiculously small and done himself while playing self (only the delivery of all the crystals in Challenge mode on the ice planet brings nearly 2.2 million Bolts
-> In this game, quite a few more weaknesses, which I would say, here I give only 4 stars.
Ratchet & Clank3:
- The animation of shock gun V5 and higher is totally screwed up. Usually one takes when panning behind a bright beam of everything destroyed. But irgentwie is in this part as good as invisible. Too Bad.
- Longer charging times during the approach to the planet, especially to Phoenix (you get the feeling the game loads only when the approach sequences are over and the ship is actually lied to the planet because it then 3-5 seconds is no feedback)
- The game saves after each style point Titanbolt or weapons purchase and during this period it is not possible open the Start menu, which press the short end and fast away from the PS3 can be fatal
- The framerate / Slowdowns in the sewers of Aquatos were the worst thing I have ever seen on my PS3. Once more than 5 slimes are running into my arms hail the game ran partly more than 10 seconds at half speed. There was the look for all channel crystals the absolute agony. The last 40 crystals into the game to 75% with a maximum of 75% of the actual speed. (Bad)
- Sometimes when you come off of the protective forces aircraft and then to escape before the missiles, these are outside the flight range of Ratchet and fly all the tens of meters to a past without that you have to press a key (the bug I had 3 times)
- The worst bug: once while approaching Aridia was my Hud visible, but otherwise everything is black and the game does not run in the background. I reloaded and the error was back. (First Fear spreads) Then I got a game was loaded was 5 minutes older and what was? -> Again the same (I was afraid to have me shot up my whole score and have cursed Sect). I then flew to Phoenix, have played a quark video game and then it went well again. PS3 reboot incidentally had not helped. This is an absolute no-go and must not happen.
-> This part irgentwie had the worst mistakes that led to the almost unplayable for me.
Ok To sum up: As a fan I do not regret buying, but I am also glad that I was able to fight through without memory leaks and other trophy-heavy bugs. Of course I have increased demands on the game, because I know this Inside and out, and they have one of my favorite games and PS2 still belong.
Have never played at all the R & C I admit still a buy recommendation, but you should know that all these mistakes I mentioned are not available on the PS2. Thus, I can only give a maximum of 4 stars and with a raised finger to say anyway at Insomniac Thanks. With R & C Q-Force, I am definitely come back here with.
