It may be that many will feel the sound of the EP as too monotonous, I find them quite interesting and worth listening to - mainstream is nothing here. The easiest way is still the rather gloomy but very rhythmic number is "diskhat ALL prepared1mixed 13" and maybe do with "diskhat1". A quasi merry "aisatsana" is with "piano UN10 It Happened" attending, but unfortunately with under 2min. a bit short.
As mentioned in my review of "Syro" I find the publication strategy of Richard D. James, first a more accessible album, which is also suitable for "newcomers" to publish and then furnish a EP of the old hardcore Aphex Twin fans , perfect!
The vinyl version comes with a download code to redeem at Bleep, for the MP3 version of the album. The tracklisting you get in a nice, well-readable format even more until the download process, since there are on the record covers the name of each songs only in very very small format. The label of the disk itself is completely in black, only a funny note, with respect to the playback speed is there: 33 or ..45.
The sound of the vinyl version is as always with Aphex Twin reference standard, so excellent.
Conclusion: If you liked "Drukqs" should definitely check it out here.
08:02:15 Small gratifying Edit: In "FACT Magazine" an article was published in the Richard D. James album "Syro" mentioned as "the end of a chapter" and as the "psychological dividing line" between what he has done so far and what will follow, the beginning makes this EP here apparently - so I'm looking forward to Supersize everything what may yet come - all the more so after the long preceding silence.
