In addition, the (very tight) clip lets on both sides, so for left- and right-handed, and then attach even tip-up (blade upward when folded) and tip-down (blade down when folded). For the reassembly of the retaining clip which is secured with two small cog, albeit a very small Torx Bit is required, I would have to get me down (if necessary before buying with concerns).
The Daumenpins are probably designed solely for one-handed closing the knife.
Because the two-sided Daumenpins I can - and I believe I'm not too weak without exaggeration, about my thumb force - not reasonable to use to open. So if I with the greatest effort (!) Looking through a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the handle, outward directed force application of the thumb can move the blade from the handle, the blade swings unfortunately to a maximum of half and then remain unsecured on the spot ,
Opening with the flipper, however, the expanded also serves as a "Parierstab" so as not to slip when using the knife with his hands in the blade is anyway much more comfortable and works perfectly. With a satisfying click, the blade ends up in the liner-lock locking. Well personally I think also the overstretch protection for the liner-lock locking. The spring for the locking device is a whopping 3 mm thick, which of course provides a very good stability of the blade in the extended state and can absorb greater forces.
The liner-lock locking can be handed without exercise is not easy to solve. But with a little practice goes certainly easier on the hand. ;-)
The knife was delivered razor sharp from the factory.
If I had not so big hands, then the Cryo 1 for me the perfect EDC (Every Day Carry) would have been.
So I have, however, opted for a return and the purchase of its big brother Cryo 2 with 3 1/4-inch blade (8.2 cm). The handle length is at the Cryo 2 whopping 11.5 cm, ie 3 cm longer, which should correspond to my hand size much better. The Cryo 2 will also bring some of the more grounded of course more on the scale, but I take that into account.
Kershaw has here delivered a great product for the small wallet in collaboration with Cutler Rick Hinderer (the diameter of Hinderer itself there is otherwise only from 750 dollars!).
I am already looking forward to the arrival of my new Allround knife KERSHAW Cryo II.
PS:
Weapons Legally the Mitsichführen the knife could, however, be a proper legal problem for ordinary petrol, because the wording of § 42a Para. 1 No. 3 WaffG ("It shall be prohibited [...] knife with one-handed lockable blade (hand knife) or fixed blade with blades of more than 12 cm [...] to lead. ") can also be read so that folding knife with one-handed lockable blade (Einhandmesser) allowed with blade length from the first millimeter can not be done at hand with him (in a sealed briefcase / handbag inside pocket well - but not in the backpack)! Who violates this provision, can be covered with fine of up to EUR 10,000.
Fortunately, I can as a scout invoke the exception Customs ("all-time good deeds ready").
Of course, the provision can be read so that to the one-handed detectability must be added a blade length of 12 cm. But this decision remains the / the respective magistrate / left -in the Owi process.
This problem is true of course also on the Cryo II by Kershaw.
Note: The above statements do not constitute legal advice is, but give my personal opinion! ;-)
