Cons:

- Device will be detected on USB 2.0 interfaces, but then loses approximately every minute the connection.
- Runs only 3.0 ports reliably if these provide enough power
- Device has problems when it is connected via USB or a USB extension HUB. You should use only the supplied cable (extremely short)!

Pro:

- Does not require additional drivers under Windows7, Windows8, OSX
- Very quiet
- Even reads my scratched CDs of 1996. These diverse DL-DVDs (+ R, -R, + RW), where all other drives have failed (a "pro" device Yamaha).

Because to me this drive so the data recovery of my old CDs and DVDs made it possible: 4 stars!
