After usual fast delivery through Amazon, I really just installed the hard drive. A quick stuck the provided additional cushion in the lid and the plate (7 mm height) fits well and does not wobble around.
Windows 7, 8.1 and Adroid 4.4.2 (Samsung Note 3) have recognized the drive immediately. Only my old XP test computer has left a bit of time, but for a new plug in the drive we went well.
I am pleasantly surprised by the read and write speeds, the USB3 opportunities be exploited passable. So here also a pretty good chip is installed for a good price.
Very good I think the mechanical on / off switch, so you do not always remove the cable and if the thing is set to Off, it is that too. Nix with standby consumption or something. Furthermore, good is also the USB-A connector, which simply provides more stability for its size, as a mini-USB. Unusual, but good idea.
Optical flaw for me: The blue LED is really very bright and flashes quite pushy for my taste.
A star deduction I have given so because is broken at the first onset of a plate of small plastic nipples that hold the cover. Since this was only one of 11 holders but that is not so bad, but should not happen anyway.
NOTE: On the Inateck website there is a firmware update for the device. While there is no information, what the update brings, but usually updates are indeed positive, so I have it installed the same. Be sure you should do this but without built-in HDD, which also goes. Inateck delivers here a pretty good tool with which to update.
All in all I am really happy with the housing and the positive price-performance ratio surprised.
Clearly I would imagine that this case of pure plastic is no room for shock absorbers. Who wants to carry around verbauende disk much with them, then should rather move to a better protective casing. I've got the plate mostly lie next to the PC, so it is very good in this case.
