Realistic and moving

In this collection of stories, Maupassant painted in rich colors contrasting but intense feelings and emotions explosions based on sexual impulses, the instinct of possession or power. They evoke by very vivid scenes, realistic and moving, reminiscences, regrets, missed opportunities, furtive meetings, frustrations, settling scores or treachery. At the same time, they expose fiercely hypocrisy of the bourgeoisie.
