Have the Toshiba now for a week and am very happy with it! The image quality in HD is of course beyond doubt. The DVD quality is not so bad, but I use for my Yamaha DVD-S scales a bit better and quieter in 1700 in my opinion. For 24p issue (my TV Sharp LC-37 XD-1E) I can only say:. Let yourself of various reports and booklets not bring calm. While it looks at slow tracking shots in shots from the shot sometimes slight stuttering, but it bothers me not. The films do not consist exclusively of such recordings !!! At larger screen sizes that can naturally carry weight more! I can not say anything because my AV receiver they can not handle on the new audio formats. In DTS and DD but there are no complaints on my part. However, I'm not sure if the differences really are so striking as in some test reports in magazines, since the theoretically possible bit rates and used in practice will be sure not the same!
Readout in HD DVD discs is very long, and I hope that will perhaps turn at next updates for the better.
The small fan is always audible with my preparation, but that may be because the player is very close to the wall, so that the sound is reflected forward, because I'll have to experiment a bit, not a reason for me to Toshiba bad talk, as some video devices and game consoles are still much louder.
My Conclusion: Best suited for the cheap entry into the HD world, especially because the film offerings thereby yes the price into perspective somewhat.
It only remains to be seen what HD Format will prevail now, or whether both will remain.
