Far Cry 3:
Resolution: 1600x900
Preset: Ultra
Vertical Sync: 1 frame
GPU Max buffered frames: 3
Widescreen Letterbox: On
DirectX 11
MSAA antialiasing: 4
Alpha to Coverage: Enhanced
SSAO Method: SSAO
FOV: 110
runs smoothly at all points so far, even in places where a lot of fire and smoke is in the game, there will be no restrictions. Overclocking Apart from the overclocking factory (1000/4800) is not necessary. In Far Cry 3 I have not been clocked lower, it may be that it'll still work.
EDIT: Far Cry 3 runs smoothly even with 8x MSAA. For that I have the default setting "gaming" of GPU Tweak used (1120/5080). Maximum temperature was 74 ° C, but C has quite fast at 67 ° leveled off and has remained there. At a room temperature of ~ 30 ° C.
EDIT2: Test way I once clocked the graphics card to 900/4400 and 8x MSAA works anyway.
Battlefield 3:
Resolution: 1440x900 (Here I have to play in this resolution are using)
Preset: Ultra
also runs smoothly, and in all places, even in 900/4400, which is the lowest, allowing GPU Tweak.
Devil May Cry 4:
Resolution: 1600x900
All graphics settings set to maximum
runs smoothly, also at 900/4400.
Arma III Alpha:
Resolution: 1600x900
Preset: Ultra
runs smoothly at 900/4400
Crysis:
Resolution 1600x900
Preset: Ultra
runs smoothly at 900/4400
Counter Strike: Global Offensive:
Resolution 1600x900
All graphics settings set to maximum
Liquid at 900/4400
League of Legends:
Resolution: 1600x900
Everything at maximum
Liquid at 900/4400

Heat And Noise:
The graphics card is actually generally inaudible, even with an open housing, which is right next to me. From 60% of the fan speed (almost 2500 rpm) it begins, however, to make quiet noticeable. Those who have a reasonably good housing that does not tend to have noise particularly well to the outside, to the expected but not interfere, let alone with headset. Through the Direct CU II - cooler the video card is well cooled. Currently, an outside temperature of just over 30 ° C there is (unfortunately also in this room), the card but refuses strictly to just over an hour Far Cry 3, to warm up to more than 65 ° C. Anyone who is thinking at this temperature, can either set their own fan curve in GPU Tweak or manually adjust the fan speed. In the mentioned 65 ° C the fan rotate at approximately 50% (2000 rpm), but every now and then a little faster, with the result that the graphics card is a little irregular noise from what could interfere with one or other but then , I have to create a separate fan curve, so that the fans always rotate at this temperature a little higher, and so the sound remains regularly.
Summary:
-Up 2500 rpm inaudible
-In Room temperature just above 30 ° C it is after 1 hour Far Cry 3 is not warmer than 65 ° C.

Overclocking with GPU Tweak:
It is simple and I doubt that one can thus make its graphics card broken. So far, the highest overclocking, I really tested with games 1200/5100, Far Cry 3 has since worked great. In a stroke of 1400/5800 there was every time I started a game, a blue screen, but can also be due to my cheap motherboard (the specifications of my system at the end).

Conclusion:
The graphics card is fast, quiet and cool and largely sufficient for the current top title definitely. The only compromise that you have to do eventually, would be the case of anti-aliasing. With a price tag of 220-230 (daily prices) it is slightly higher than the Asus GTX 660 from Nvidia (about 200), but also has a wider memory interface (HD 7870: 256 bits, GTX 660 192-bit) and thus a higher memory throughput the same clock. As far as I know this card is generally a little more quickly, how much faster I do not know, but in the end turns out, I think, only the question of whether AMD or Nvidia wants to incorporate into his system. As far as I know, however, also no problem PhysX on AMD cards more, which is why there was no reason for me to take up Nvidia.
