Delivery
The camera comes in a pretty package, as shown in the product images. The delivery is limited to the bare minimum:
Camera
PSU (without fiepende or whirring sounds)
Installation material for wall mounting (wall bracket. Screws, dowels, drilling template)
Lan cable
First impression and Installation
The first impression of the camera has been very positive. The plastic used is very stable and looks good. The surveillance camera can be either put down or suspended by the accessories supplied on the wall. Due to its compact size, this takes not much space.
The lens is centered, above are lights, red lights, the night clearly visible 2 powerful infrared. In the center is the brightness sensor, including the microphone and a status LED.
The installation on the network can be made via WPS button or manually. Since I have WPS disabled on my Fritz Box 7390, I have the camera initially connected via a LAN cable and simultaneously charged the mobile app of Ausdom mobile phone. To my astonishment, the Cam, without which I had gesannt the QR code on the back, was immediately recognized by the app on the network and I immediately had an image. For safety's sake I changed first the access password to the camera of 888888 in a correct password.
Once connected to the network, the camera can then be integrated via WLAN, but you just have to enter their WLAN password only in the settings. To install only a "Quick Guide" is included, unfortunately, a long detailed instructions missing. It is therefore advantageous if you know a bit about networking.
The image of the camera is properly thanks to 720p resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). That's enough to really observe and if in doubt, to identify people from problems. The night vision is also very strong. Instead of many small LEDs this camera has 2 more powerful infrared LEDs. The specified 10 meters are realistic.
The delay in the image is only about 1 second, which I think is good because I already models have also seen 3 second delay.
The camera can be at an angle adjust and fix, but there is no motion control (PAN / TILT) by APP!
Software
The camera can both the PC are also used by mobile phone app (for mobile phone simply "AUSDOM" looking in the store). Who only planning to use the camera via Handyapp but is still not an installation of PC software around, there can only be established with these important functions such as scheduled recording, or sending e-mails.
The software makes a very well-developed impression compared with other cams in this price range. The graphical user interface (GUI) looks grown up and all the functions are fairly easy to find. The only thing there is to complain about is the sometimes not very appropriate translation (Sometimes then helps try ;-)).
Alarm function
The most important feature is the alarm function for me, because the camera is used in the absence. One has the opportunity to be both sound recognition and motion detection (can be adjusted separately from each other) notify the mobile phone via vibration or sound. It can also be set if the Banachrichtung in the foreground via pop-up or only Ã'ber is to be the status bar (with Android). The messages were carried out in the test reliably.
With regard to the recording you have the following functions:
permanent Auzeichnung (time-controlled)
Recording only by alarm
Recording of the way manually by APP (filing the file either on the phone memory or SD card)
Although a recording to SD card take place (in the camera) but I do not use this feature for the following reason: In a slump, a camera is sooner or later discovered, destroyed or stolen. The least likely home an anti-theft device have that prevents theft of the camera. Therefore, for me the function of mail shipment at the alarm Massy of things and works as follows:
About the camera is just the sensitivity of the motion alarm set, thus activating the alarm. On the PC software then the mail address has to be unique bene. This worked at first try immediately, you need only his username, password and the Outgoing Mail Server (IMAP server for the output, possibly simply for its suppliers ergoogeln).
In the case of motion activation one then with minimal delay will receive an email with the content eg
"Ipcam: AUSDOM, 2015-03-13 15:13:14 Motion alarm triggered happen!"
In this email then are 3 razor sharp pictures with camera name (the reporting camera) and timestamp. Perfect! Just in case the images are then immediately on the mail server on the safe side. The mails are approximately 200 - 370kb grossy. The camera sends images as long as the motion alarm. In the event that the cat makes Breakdance front of the camera, so enough MailSpace be (just kidding on the edge ....) should exist. The filing in a dropbox should also be possible, but I have not yet been tested.
Criticism and Conclusion
On a negative note, there are really only after sufficient testing that the WLAN antenna is not the stÃ'rkste. After having its place of installation found, you should ensure a sufficiently strong Wi-supply. Außerdem I miss a somewhat more detailed instructions which enters deep beside the "Quick Guide" to the alarm functions.
In the entry-level price range, the camera has at any time check what's going on at home in a very good and reliable functioning Bildqualitä't alerting via mail. The software is certainly not perfect, but is one of the best I have come across in this price range.
I would recommend the camera all who need a "third eye" of the road and / or at home or want to realize on the property an inexpensive alarm protection with images via mail delivery.
