I emphasize that I do not have (1 month of use) had a stability problem for the moment as bcp other customers. Touch wood but recently I think I gave a little push to chance (see below)
We start with the positives:
- His impeccable both in accuracy and volume excluding the BBE system in its current version that is perfect.
- Non android interface.
- Battery with strong autonomy.
- Common Connection with other cowons (S9, J3, X7, C2) or even the video line in cables ...
- Hardware buttons in numbers sufficient to blind manipulation (forward, back, play / pause, volume - and + on / lock)
- Interface Compatibility with J3 and X7 (sense, leaf, and you can even put the interface X7, see below)
- The possible dual mode when the USB connection (charge + storage or support simultaneous operation + player)
- More convenient connectors Cache as other models
The Bad:
- Interface horrifying, really, subject to an accelerometer / motion sensor possible to lock, inergonomique, ugly (well no one will say "Desiiiiign" pompous and kitsch ... another synonym for "ugly and unusable")
- Dimensions for a kingsize a little audio player (because it is referenced in audio player)
- Function / video anecdotal support: same limitations formats that the J3 and X7 other. In short it is far from PMP war monsters like the old A3, the Z2 or even Archos 43! It will be limited to divx avi, mp4 and wmw some but not all warranties depending on the version of the codec and size / resolution.
- Video function even anecdotally that it's a touch screen of RESISTIVE LOW RESOLUTION (270x400 or kind of) makes it X7 screen from where the title of my test.
If suddenly we feel recycling X7, it has not the capacity (flash memory instead of large hard drive) but still more comfortable to use because of the physical buttons. Its interface is horrifying I think the cause of repeated crashes reported by other shoppers. Although I passed between the drops, I have since copied the file to replace my X7 and X7 interface is hardly prettier but less inergonomique and more reliable hair. (Not least, I myself was used)
The J3 is no longer manufactured, the Z2 android being quite expensive (amoled hd screen and HDMI connectors are paid, logically) and having poorer self-X9 remains a player AUDIO (I stress this point) with a video function booster / troubleshooting, which in its price range remains honest because you can always add to it a MicroSD card more (navigation by tag / artists / albums mixing the two memories; the folder navigation It makes the distinction, which is normal). Perso I removed one star because of recycling a bit outdated rooms, lack of ergonomics, and because the brand I used to so much better (X5L, D2, D3 ...).
It is very unfortunate to see that the brand was unknown and hardly distributed in France in its golden age with its best models, and began to be distributed in the West since it does frankly improvable products. Hoping that it does not have a causal relationship (basically like "to be able to export to the West, you MUST make the stew and align products such as tablets, smartphones and iPod ...) because it would be a shame.
After as long as you are not stingy on the helmet (ie not a noname to 5), the sound Cowon has always been at the top will make you rediscover your favorite music as you've never heard, was the case for me during my first model in 2006. And for a music player that is I think the priority criterion.
