Absolutely enjoyable, what brings us the debut album by the British in the CD player: Ten uncompromising forward storming songs where on the road no more prisoners be taken, and two ballads to short breath in the 35-minute sprint. Nine Black Alps actually fit to current indie rock of the island. Even if they have supportet Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, the Chiefs or the Klaxons are far away. This is punchier power rock, perhaps best serve the early Foo Fighters as a reference. Nirvana itself often form the reference point, for me, the Nine Black Alps are but actually no later Grunge. Before approaching the noise they shrug back yet and in the melodies of the anthemic chorus, the stadium rock near is often sought. And here we come to the small weak point of the album: For a truly great album that killer songs missing. Do not misunderstand - it's almost always good song material on this album. But for the fifth star, which I forgive not frivolous, it in all its freshness and power lack the songs, to which one could even remember effortlessly after ten years.
