Many versions of the Christmas Oratorio I've heard - the present recording here I feel as unmatched. She is the 1974/75 received by the VEB recording with the excellent cast Augér (soprano), Burmeister (Alt), Schreier (tenor) and Adam (bass), both sing perfect reach an interpretation of this music even under Martin Flämigs line that explores the depth of Bach's composition incomparable. There is also a very good DOMICILED Dresdner Kreuz Choir and bell-boys' voices. Hardly not to mention the impeccable aufspielenden Bachorchester the Dresden Philharmonic. The recording is perfect (another word does not fit), diluted the voices and the instruments are clear, yet warm, without sounding ever indifferent. The Bach trumpets sound just divine. Since it hardly matters that the recording technology was not digital - even the record of these setting I preferred all newer CDs until the release of CDs, and the mastering of the CD is excellent, the character of the recording preserving, succeeded. For me, this CD is a reference. I can recommend it only.
