Let's be honest: this discussion whether Roger Cicero now is a worthy envoy at the Grand Prix or not, just annoying. Can not we just make time loose and rejoice over it, that finally there after decades of Ralph Siegel era and the Guildo Horn Hurz times breath of fresh air? Just something else? Airy and ironically upbeat lyrics, rich big band sound a la Paul Kuhn or Benny Goodman, witty declarations of love for woman per se, to Berlin, to the misfortunes of everyday life ..... that's something different than this love pain or -World-Is-as-shit-Gesülze. And I know God no insider or a fan of this genre. But five years ago, I also have Robbie Williams' surprise number "Swing When You're Winning" taken off his shoes. Just a Music to cast with loosened tie knot, his jacket over his shoulder, in a good mood to stroll through a big city and pretty women in street cafe near the espresso drink watching. In short: This title is light entertainment art, but poetic, poignant and above all musically a treat. At least for lovers of Big City Swing.
