To test the microphone, I have downloaded Z1 me an appropriate, simple app for my Sony Xperia. When the microphone is attached to my shell, even deeper breaths are partly to listen to the recording. Background noise as faint radio are also recorded. The voice recording is good for my taste. However, I can find no huge difference to a recording via smartphone without micro. But for my smartphone takes on even voices and sounds from the immediate area or a very low level. So if you want for example detect talks or lectures, is well served with this micro.
