Regarding the reaction speed holds the camera up to its promise. It dissolves very quickly and also the continuous shooting fun. It is nice that you can set the number of images in continuous shooting fine and that there is a separate button on the case for the function. The camera needs after triggering then indeed some time to process the images but the waiting time is about 5 seconds (at 30 frames / sec.) Still ok.
Also on the picture quality, I could not complain. I've done at relatively little daylight shots of the same object in succession with all ISO values and could only find 800 some noise from ISO. Most other test photos in different lighting conditions and settings I have made with ISO 100. For a closer look at PC the images still looked very sharp and the colors of course. Since I always never more than ISO 400 or 800 need for my needs as I can tell this aspect only positive.
The screen is not the best but the quality of the photos in advance to be able to evaluate well the resolution forth sufficient.
Even the mechanical image stabilization worked well. Even at full optical and digital zoom, I got slightly out sharp images.
Although the menu seems not just modern but is clear and easy to use without having to read a manual in advance. Also total the camera lies comfortably in your hand. Although it is slightly heavier than comparable models in this class, but I do not see it negatively, because you can keep it by a little quieter in the hand.
A plus on my list they got also because the FH100 is the only camera of the current Super Zoomer, which can save photos in the RAW format. But I think it will not need the most "average Joe". If you use it you have to wait, however, because at the photo store then takes the camera a long time (estimated 10 seconds). Since it can not quickly snap a row one.
Regarding the manual settings are the options in order. Nicely, the maximum exposure time of 30 seconds (also rather rare). When aperture unfortunately can only be changed between two values but still ...

Now to what I did not like:
I have the variant ordered with silver. The upper black part looks very classy, everything is silver is unfortunately made of plastic and has a relatively low cost. One must also handle the camera only once and can already see everywhere unsightly fingerprints. For that matter, I would rather choose the black version. Nevertheless, I think the processing at the price not good enough.
What bothered me most was the auto focus. Already at the first photo I attempt frightened due to the very loud scratchy noise that the camera gave out. I also knew quickly what was the reason for it, because in other Exilim models have been reported in the reviews already on the noisy AF. To make sure that it is not only on my camera I've tested the model in a shop, but again the same game. If you turn off the AF hear nothing more. However, I used it like and felt it was very disturbing. It sounds at least on not very healthy ...
When focusing even I also had to trim. I held the camera at a distant object about 2 feet and pressed the shutter button to focus light to, but the camera is not turned sharply. The whole I then tried a few times and then only at the third or fourth time I got to see a sharp image on the screen. The whole appeared not always, but at least a few times during the three days. It is quite possible that this is a single fate, but it wants to be mentioned.
Another strange point was the battery indicator. In photo mode, the battery showed full or half-full, but once you umschaltete display his photos began the battery indicator to blink red. I never maxed out and have quickly changed in the Photo mode, but if the ad is telling the truth, watching the images probably eats relatively (very) much energy. The Switch is that you always need to charge the battery in an external charger and the cable can not simply plugs into the camera.
Last but not least, a word to the macro mode. I use this very often and at a minimum distance of 7 cm are not just close a lot of fun. Often one must still leave than 7cm to really get a clear picture a little more distance. Other Super Zoomer create because after all, 3 to 5cm why was a downside here attached.
All in all, I find the camera OK, so unfortunately only 3 stars.
Those who enjoy shooting and this feature also uses often is well served with the FH100, because that creates my research no other at the moment. Who the function rarely used and rather makes macro shots or more apertures latitude wants should think it over. Especially noise-sensitive minds should prefer even inspect the camera before buying the store and assess whether they are not eventually goes the chatter on my nerves =)
