The following points are positive:
- Absolute measurement accuracy, more rapid succession measurements carried out (in the same ear) varied max by 0.1 degrees. A rectal reference measurement also differed in exactly the same degree as described in the user manual (different measuring points yield different results).
- The measurement actually takes only 3 seconds (ill for small children especially important)
- The operation is simple and intuitive
- The probe is preheated to 34 °, it provides more accurate results and is not unpleasantly cool when measuring.
- The replaceable sensor cap the device and the measurement is always hygienic.
And that whereas it is also the only negative point striking:
- Brown sells these caps as disposable caps and sells spare caps for good money. Once caps may be useful in surgeries or hospitals, but not in the household where per person and disease cycle mE a cap seems sufficient. In the manual, however, explicitly noted that after each measurement carried out in any case, the cap has to be replaced. Here, the manufacturer tries clearly to maximize its profit by playing on the fears of vulnerable consumers.
Conclusion:
A very good, accurate and fast measuring thermometer at a reasonable price.
