Once home I pocketed the USB receiver, keyboard and mouse worked after a few seconds even without software. The range I can test up to 10 m and no disconnections festgestelllt - very good!
Keyboard: The keyboard tells me in terms of appearance and fingerprints highly, the buttons are quiet.
After uploading the enclosed software it is possible to program the many special keys on the keyboard. I wish to highlight the button for the Flip 3D window overview, which replaces the unnecessary right Windows key. This works well on Windows XP. Optimally positioned I also find quick access to the calculator on the num pad. In the past I have often been annoyed at having to call up the calculator from the Start menu.
All special keys include:
- Mail program / browser / Messenger / media player / Favourite key 1-5 / Media control (play / pause,>, Stop / Volume / Mute
- My Documents / My Pictures / enlargement & reduction (the latter does not seem to work in all applications)
- F1-12 with special assignment (Switchable)
- Calculators
- Flip 3D window overview (instead of right Windows key)
- Application button (context menu)
Almost all buttons can be individually configured with the software. The installation was carried out very quickly and was intuitive.
Mouse: BlueTrack Technology works on my wooden table precisely, here I was with my laser mouse but no problems. The special button on the left and right side I use the forward and backward scroll in browser, pressing the scroll wheel opens the default window overview. All keys can be reconfigured. Possibilities include a "precision control": by pressing or holding the button for the mouse speed will be reduced to 10-90%.
The scroll wheel can also be used for horizontal scrolling. Who does not use this function, it may feel as bad that these two additional buttons to switch off, but do not let use different. (Maybe followed by a software update). The scroll wheel does not lock, which I first perceived as disturbing, after tweaking the scrolling speed and activating the acceleration but I come quite handle it well.
The piano-black surface of the mouse and keyboard is very susceptible to fingerprints, so I find it not so bad.
Only bothers me the ergonomics of the mouse. This is so small that I do not know how to best posionieren my fingers. The little finger slips repeatedly on the mouse ends up on the table. It should be noted, my hands are not too big for one man.
I hope to be able to get used to the mouse, if not I will have to look for an alternative. For this reason, unfortunately, a star deduction for the otherwise really gelungende and also affordable system!
