Procedure: after a few tests, I have decided for the following time-economic approach:
Scan in the highest JPEG quality with 5000 dpi, Magic Touch on. Each image has then about 20 MB and a set of several hundred frames per vacation can be automatically edited using the supplied software Photoshop Elements 12 ("Intelligent correction"). The result can be quite impressive: all images are sharp, contrasty and colorful.
On my Samsung UHD TV (55 inches, Curved) the images look much better than on a screen with a slide projector. This is of course due to the digital image enhancement technologies of modern televisions. Naturally can not compete with the quality of a digital camera a scanned slide.
Hardware and software:
I scanned so far 3,000 slides and thereby had no major problems. At the beginning of the scanner has sometimes lost the connection to the PC; This problem was solved by replacing the USB cable. After a software crash, however, all information must be reentered.
The entanglement of slides is very rare (about 10 times at 3,000 scans) and is likely to be due to the poor quality of some frames.
A 50-cartridge requires approximately 5 hours, so I can scan up to 150 slides per day.
Conclusion: the DigitDia 6000 met previously fully my expectations because it provides very good images in a timely manner. For perfectionists which the appliance is standing for any hardware or software-related crash just before the heart attack only conditionally suitable. For people can muster a little frustration tolerance and patience I the DigitDia 6000 Highly recommended!
